Ms Susan Battye, of Auckland, ONZM, for services to performing arts education
Susan Battye is a founding member and former President of Drama New Zealand. She was Head of Drama at Epsom Girls Grammar School. She has written more than 20 scripts for use in schools and developed written resources and delivered workshops to aid understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in a performing arts context. She was Programme Manager for the Bachelor of Māori Performing Arts at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa. She served on the General Council of the International Drama Theatre and Education Association. She was Vice President of the New Zealand Society of Authors Te Puni Kaituhi o Aotearoa Board. Ms Battye was a founding member of Women in Film and Television and a member of the New Zealand Writers Guild and Playwrights Association.
