Historic diplomatic bag

The Governor-General, the Hon Anand Satyanand, and Mrs Susan Satyanand, made their first Official State Visit to Samoa from 6 to 9 August. At a luncheon hosted by the Governor-General on 7 August, he gifted to His Highness Tuiatua Tupua Tamasese Efi, Samoa's Head of State, a diplomatic bag used by the German Governor of Samoa. The diplomatic bag was given the Governor-General to return to Samoa by Auckland barrister Brian Stephenson, who inherited it from his uncle who served as a police officer on Samoa.
