Please be advised of the following movements by Their Excellencies The Governor-General Hon Anand Satyanand and Mrs Susan Satyanand relating to commemorative events for Waitangi Day 2008.
Monday 4 February:
- Their Excellencies attend a reception on board HMNZS Canterbury at Waitangi at 6.15pm
Tuesday, 5 February.
- Their Excellencies attend the Waitangi National Trust Board Waitangi Luncheon at the Copthorne Hotel at Waitangi at noon.
- Their Excellencies Review a Beat Retreat and Ceremonial Sunset Ceremony at Waitangi at 5.30pm.
- Their Excellencies will host a reception at the Copthorne Hotel at Waitangi at 6pm. Media wishing to attend this event should contact Antony Paltridge, Government House Public Affairs Officer (021 470 583) before 5 February. Media wishing to attend other events at Waitangi should seek accreditation from the Waitangi National Trust Board (Michael Hooper 021-940-893)
Wednesday, 6 February:
- Their Excellencies attend the Prime Ministers' Breakfast Reception at the Copthorne Hotel, Waitangi.
- Their Excellencies will fly to Napier to attend the Waitangi Day Family Celebration presented by the Maori Millennium Committee in partnership with Ngati Kahungunu Iwi Inc from 10am to 1.30pm. Details of these activities can be gained from Marie Edwards on 06 878 2150
- About 2pm, Their Excellencies will return to Auckland where they will host a Garden Reception at Government House in Auckland starting at 4pm. At this reception, the Governor-General will give his annual Waitangi Day address. To gain accreditation to the Garden Party, please contact Government House Public Affairs Officer Antony Paltridge on 021 470 583 by 9am on 6 February.
