The Blundell and Porritt Rooms

MySpaceThe Blundell Room, and associated smaller Porritt Room, originated in the ‘withdrawing room’ of times past. It is a space for ceremony, conversation and entertaining guests with the display of treasured art and artefacts.
The rooms are named after the first New Zealand-born and resident Governor-General, Sir Denis Blundell (1972-77) while the smaller room is named after Sir Arthur Porritt (1967-72), the first New Zealand-born Governor-General.

Queen Elizabeth II became New Zealand's Queen on 6 February 1952. To mark her Diamond Jubilee, a special section of the Governor-General's website has been created.
