Portrait of Saint Andrea Corsini

In 1944, German soldiers raided the Corsini villa, where the family's artworks had been hastily hidden behind a plaster wall. Noticing the wet plaster around the edges but lacking the time to tear it down, the soldiers fired bullets into this portrait and left empty handed.
