Thank you for having me here today. I am visiting the Republic Korea at the invitation of the Korean government for the 70th anniversary commemorations of the Armistice.
E nga mana, e nga reo, e nga iwi o te motu e huihui nei, tēnei aku mihi nui ki a koutou. Nau mai haere mai ra ki te Whare Kawana o Tāmaki Makaurau. Welcome to Government House Auckland.
Today, in celebrating the life of Dame Cath Tizard, we must acknowledge her as a much-loved matriarch, who treasured her family and close friendships in her life.
I wish to start by acknowledging, on behalf of New Zealand, representatives of mana enua – and specifically Pa ma Kainuku Ariki – the Cook Islands Government, and the Religious Advisory Council.
