Bruce Russell, of Christchurch, QSM, for services to the community

Bruce Russell is a member of the New Zealand and English Freemasons. He has chaired the West Melton Residents Association committee, West Melton Reserve committee, and Selwyn Central Community Board. He contributes to the Canterbury Country Rugby Referees Association, Canterbury A&P Association, and Lincoln University Conference Committee. He held leadership roles with the Young Farmers organisation and was President of the National Veterinary Services Council. He has organised local ANZAC Day Commemorations and led the development of a community recreation facility. Following the Canterbury Earthquakes, Mr Russell was involved with the Civil Defence Team and CERA Advocacy Committee.
