UPDATE 30 April 2020
All public and community group tours of Government House Wellington and Auckland are suspended until New Zealand is at alert level one under the Covid-19 restrictions.
We encourage educators wanting to learn about the role of the Governor-General or about Government House to get in touch so we can support your students remotely.
Please contact the Visitor Centre team for queries and bookings
Our Wellington Visitor Centre runs free, guided tours for individuals, groups and schools.
Tours take around two hours and take in the Visitor Centre, the main house and the garden (weather permitting). They explore the current and historic role of the Governor-General and the history of Government House, and include interactive displays and films.
