Government House tours

Tours under the Traffic light system

Public tours of Government House will restart on selected dates after Waitangi Day 2022. All visitors aged over 12yrs 3mos will be required to show a vaccine pass for entry to the grounds.

Tours will take place under green and orange settings only. 

School tours and group tours: Bookings for group tours can be made by contacting the Government House Visitor Centre. The vaccine pass requirement applies for all school and group tours. Children under 12yrs 3mos are exempt from this requirement.

Public tour

For individuals or groups of 6 or less

Tours take around two hours and include the Visitor Centre, the main house and the garden (weather permitting).

Group tour

For groups of more than 6 people

Community organisations, rest homes, work groups, large family groups and groups with specialist needs.

School tour

For ECE-Adult education groups

We can tailor a visit to meet students' needs and learning requirements.
