Government House Auckland is not open to the public but tours of the gardens can be arranged by contacting the Government House Wellington Visitor Centre. We do not run tours at Auckland between May and October because of winter weather impacting the grounds.
Tours are guided and dependent on garden staff availability. The tours do not include the interior of the house. Our paths have stairs and are hilly. All participants on a garden tour must have good fitness and mobility and be able to walk and stand for 90 minutes. There is no opportunity to 'sit-out' for part of a tour. Please contact us in advance if you have questions about access/mobility: [email protected]
Groups of 7-15 people are welcome to contact us to arrange a private garden tour. These can only take place on Wednesday and Thursday mornings, when the house is not in use. Tours will not be scheduled over the winter months.
