Richard Scadden, of Granity, QSM, for services to the community

Richard Scadden has been a long-standing member of Freemasons New Zealand, holding multiple high offices. He initiated a support programme for the West Coast Helicopter Rescue Service.

He volunteered for the Scout Association of New Zealand. He was Deputy Chairman of the Northern Buller Communities Society Inc. He was a member of the Granity Beautification Committee, Chairman of South Granity Water Board, and a Buller Citizen’s Advice Bureau volunteer.

He is sub-Branch Secretary at Westport RSA. He has been Treasurer and Chairman of the Granity Reserve Board. Mr Scadden has fundraised for several other community organisations.
