Hon Justice Warwick Gendall, Wellington, CNZM, for services to the State and sport
The Honourable Justice John Warwick Gendall has been a judge of the High Court since 1996. He was admitted to the bar in 1966 and was a partner at Buddle Findlay from 1968 until becoming a barrister sole in 1986. He was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1996. He served as the inaugural chairman of the New Zealand Future Footballers Association Board from 2008 and has had a longstanding involvement with football as a player and administrator. He joined the council of the New Zealand Football Association in the 1970s, serving as deputy chairman from 1978 to 1984 and chairman from 1986 to 1992.
