Robyn Broughton, Invercargill, ONZM, for services to netball
Since being appointed as a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2004, for services to netball and the community, Mrs Robyn Broughton has continued to coach the Southern Sting netball team until 2007, and then the Southern Steel team in the ANZ Championship from 2008 to 2011. She is currently the coach of the Wellington Central Pulse ANZ team. She continues to coach netball at Verdon College in Invercargill, which she has done since 1983. She has been a Silver Ferns selector and coach of the NZ Fastnet Ferns, which won the world title in 2010. She is known for her leadership and ability to recognise the potential in players and help them reach their best in a team. Mrs Broughton has continued to promote netball in Invercargill and Southland.
