Nancy Geer
Nancy Geer, of Hokitika, received The Queen's Service Medal for services to the community. Mrs Geer has been involved in the Hokitika community for more than 20 years. She was instrumental in establishing the toy library in Hokitika in 1984, and was involved with Handiscope, an organisation for people with disabilities. She is the volunteer coordinator for Hokitika Meals on Wheels and has helped organise the local foodbank at Christmas. Mrs Geer has been involved with Age Concern, the Disabled Peoples Assembly, the Lake Kaniere Lodge Trust, and the local Women’s Institute.
