Dame Rosemary Horton DNZM
Dame Rosemary Horton, of Auckland, received the Insignia of a Dame Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to philanthropy. Dame Rosemary has devoted more than 40 years to working with a wide variety of philanthropic causes for the sick, disabled, children, and the environment. Her extensive philanthropic career includes: Chairing of the Friends of Starship; Vice-Chair of the Starship Foundation since 1991; and as a founding Trustee and Chair of the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation from 1995 to 2005. She is also Chair of the Aotea Centre Performing Arts Trust; the Aotea Women's Committee; the Laura Fergusson Women's Committee and Vice-Chair of the Laura Fergusson Trust. Dame Rosemary is a Trustee of a large number of organisations.
