Percy Lee
Percy Lee, of Christchurch, received the Queen’s Service Medal, for service to the Chinese community and the community, on 2 April 2008. He has contributed to the Christchurch community for more than 60 years, 40 of which were spent as an interpreter for the police and courts. Mr Lee was chairman of the Market Gardeners and Chinese Growers Associations, and introduced the commercial growing of Chinese vegetables to Canterbury.
