Ali Afakasi
Ali Afakasi, of Clover Park, received the Insignia of a Member of the NZ Order of Merit for services to sport, in particular boxing, at an investiture ceremony at Government House in Auckland on 20 September 2007. He was a welterweight and light-welterweight representative for New Zealand and Samoa at several International Boxing Federation Pan Pacific tournaments and has been a referee and an administrator.
