John Young
John Young, of New Plymouth, received the Insignia of an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to the dairy industry and the community. He is the former chair of Kiwi Co-op Dairies and the driving force behind a number of mergers in the dairy industry. He was Director of the New Zealand Dairy Board and has been a member of the board of Port Taranaki for 10 years and its Chair in recent years. He is an independent director of Parininihi Ki Waitotara Farms, Fonterra’s largest shareholder in Taranaki. He is a Justice of the Peace. He was a member of the Taranaki District Health Board for almost nine years, and more recently its Chair. Mr Young has been a member of many of the Board’s committees and was the Board’s Taranaki Director on the Fulford Radiology Services Board.
