Alma Mihaere
Alma Mihaere received the Insignia of a Member of the NZ Order of Merit for services to Maori, on 3 September 2008. He is the chairperson of the Kokiri Marae Keriana Olsen Trust and has been the chairperson of the Petone Maori Committee, the Muturangi Marae, and Muturangi Te Kohanga Reo. He has also been a member of the Kaumatua Council, Rangitane Runanga Wellington, and the Wellington District Maori Council. Mr Mihaere is also kaumatua for many organisations and was an advisor to the Wellington Police Council.
