George Wood
George Wood, of Forrest Hill, received the Insignia of a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit, for services to local government, on 16 April 2008. Mr Wood, who is pictured after the ceremony with the Governor-General and Mrs Susan Satyanand and friends and family, served as North Shore Mayor for three terms until 2007 and was associated with a number of important projects within the city.
