Marianne Whittington
Marianne Whittington, of Auckland, received the Insignia of a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to nursing, on 17 April 2008. Ms Whittington, pictured with the Governor-General and Mrs Susan Satyanand and family and friends after the ceremony, is a New Zealand Red Cross aid worker who has been on 11 international aid missions over the last 17 years for some 80 months’ work to countries such as Afghanistan, Angola, Kenya, Sudan, and Thailand.
