Faruk Khan
Faruk Khan, of Otahuhu, received the Queen’s Service Medal for services to the community, on 15 April 2008. He is president of the South Auckland Muslim Association and has been the driving force behind the establishment of a new mosque in Otahuhu. He has been an executive member of the Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand for more than 10 years and is also a member of the Council of Christians and Muslims, and the Auckland Inter-Faith Council.
