Ms Cameron was the founder of Kathmandu, the outdoor clothing and equipment brand, and has been credited with reshaping the marketing and styling of outdoor clothing and equipment. In May 2006 she sold the company and has since announced plans to launch a chain of new outdoor stores in New Zealand and Australia. She has continued to invest in a number of other retail companies, including the clothing retailer Postie Plus, and the homeware stores Nood, and The Dog's Breakfast. Ms Cameron is known for her philanthropy and was the first substantial capital fund donor to the Hillary Institute International Leadership Awards in 2007
