Anita Thirtle, Wanganui, QSM
For services to the Chinese community. Mrs Thirtle has been President of the Wanganui Branch of the New Zealand-Chinese Association since its inception in 1990. She has voluntarily dedicated herself to assisting people of Chinese descent in the Wanganui region, acting as a support person in court cases, an interpreter, and an advocate. Mrs Thirtle has been an interpreter, for the New Zealand Police on several occasions. She is also a Director of the Wanganui Contract Bridge Club, and is responsible for the production of hand records for all five bridge sessions each week.
