Victor Viggers
Victor Viggers, of Napier, received the Queen's Service Medal for services to music and the community. Mr Viggers has contributed to music and the community in the Napier for some 60 years. He was a member of the Napier Frivolity Minstrels and the Dixielanders Trad Jazz band for all of this time, with whom he has entertained at many events, including the Napier Art Deco weekend for over 20 years. He has rendered 40 years service as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and visits rest homes. He is also a compare, story teller, and public speaker who is sought after for many events. He is a World War II veteran who served with the RAF Bomber Command, who has been asked to be an advisor in Peter Jackson’s remake of the Dambusters. Mr Viggers has been awarded the New Zealand Variety Artists Club Scroll Award..
