Robin Oliver
Robin Oliver, of Wellington, received the Insignia of a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to Inland Revenue. Mr Oliver has overseen the development and implementation of a number of significant taxation reforms since 1985. These reforms have included the accrual rules, work on the integration of the Companies Act 1993 and the taxation of life insurance and superannuation funds. He is also a member of the Rewrite Advisory Panel, which was a 15-year project that culminated in the Income Tax Act 2007; the largest piece of legislation to be passed by the New Zealand Parliament. He has been involved with the implementation of the introduction of the Generic Tax Policy Process and the organisational review of the department. He is the co-author of The Accrual Rules: A Practical Guide.
