Professor Karen Willcox, of Cambridge, Massachusetts, MNZM, for services to aerospace engineering and education
Professor Willcox is Co-Director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Center for Computational Engineering and Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and a recognised innovator in the United States. She previously worked at Boeing Phantom Works. She is co-Chair of the MIT Online Education Policy Initiative, Chair of the MIT OpenCourseWare Faculty Advisory Board, and former co-Chair of the Institute-wide Task Force on the Future of MIT Education. In New Zealand, she has held visiting professor positions at the University of Auckland, supported the Sir Peter Blake Trust, and delivered presentations to school students. She sits on the Advisory Board of the Department of Engineering at the University of Auckland.
