Mr Alexander (Keith) Mair, ONZM of Taupo, for services to basketball
Mr Mair has contributed to basketball as a coach and administrator for 54 years, including 13 years as Head Coach of the Tall Blacks when they competed at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. He has promoted basketball in the community as a life-long activity for players of all abilities, generally over-40. He was the honorary Secretary-Manager of Aorangi Sport Stadium Timaru and a member of the Christchurch City Council committee behind the build of an 8,000 square metre events centre. He was Chief Executive for England Basketball and is currently the volunteer Head Coach for the Men’s Basketball Team of Wales. Mr Mair was a director of the British Basketball Federation and a member of the International Basketball Federation Europe’s Finance Commission.
