Mr Robin McNeill, MNZM of Invercargill, for services to conservation.
Mr McNeill is an engineer and a strong advocate for conservation values. He is on the board of the New Zealand Walking Access Commission. During his time as President of Federated Mountain Clubs, he helped form the New Zealand Outdoor Recreation Consortium, which maintains public huts and tracks on conservation land. He was a member and Chair of the Southland Conservation Board, where he helped develop the Rakiura National Park Management Plan and review the Stewart Island/Rakiura Conservation Management Strategy. He is editor of ‘Moirs Guide South’ and author of ‘Safety in the Mountains’. Mr McNeill has been elected Fellow of the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand.
