Kenneth Donald, of New Plymouth, QSM, for services to marine search and rescue and the community
Ken Donald played a key role in forming the Cape Egmont Sea Rescue Trust. He was the first marine advisor at Cape Egmont Boat Club. He is Patron of Cape Egmont Boat Club, Cape Egmont Coast Guard, and Cape Egmont Sea Rescue Trust. He helped revive Taranaki Air Patrol to be able to search for vessels in distress. With the closure of Pungarehu and Warea Schools, he rescued war memorial plaques from the school gates and established a memorial on the flagpole at Bayly Road, Pungarehu. Mr Donald is a member of Okato Lions Club and volunteers with Taranaki Hospice.
