Rosemarie Searle, of Kumara, QSM, for services to the community and sport
Rosemarie Searle taught at Kumara School, where she organised school sports and coached children’s softball in her own time. After an accident left her with a traumatic brain injury, she retrained as a Diversional Therapist. She was employed by Kowhai Manor rest home in Greymouth and took on additional voluntary activities there. She is a member of Kumara Community Trust and publisher of the community newsletter ‘Gold Trails’. She has been involved with the local Lions Club and has researched Kumara history. Ms Searle was a member of the Kumara Hall Committee and the Kumara Sports Ground Committee.
