Cushla Piesse, of Christchurch, MNZM, for services to Highland dancing
Cushla Piesse has been involved with Highland and National Dancing for 50 years. She is President of the Piping and Dancing Association of New Zealand’s Canterbury West Coast Centre. She helped instigate and continues to be involved in the Hororata Highland Games. She is a Technical Committee member of the New Zealand Academy of Highland and National Dancing and has presented courses and workshops through the Academy. She co-managed the team of New Zealand Academy dancers at the 2014 International Tattoo. Mrs Piesse sits on the Council of the Scottish Society of New Zealand and is a senior tutor for the Society’s dance classes.
