John Pullar, of Whakatane, QSM, for services to the community
John Pullar served as a Whakatane District Councillor. He has run a successful construction business and led a team of volunteers in the Liveable Homes Project in response to damage caused by the ex-Tropical Cyclones Debbie and Cook. He was involved in Project Hope, an initiative to build a cancer treatment centre at Whakatane Hospital. He chairs the Kiwi Trust, which has overseen a strong repopulation of the iconic bird. He chairs the Community Liaison Committee of the Bay of Plenty Regional Council’s Kopeopeo Canal Remediation Project. He is a member and former President of Whakatane West Rotary Club.
