Peter Cox, of Christchurch, QSM for services to sport, particularly hockey
Peter Cox has advised on boards for private-sector companies, state-owned enterprises, and other public entities. He has dedicated his expertise to promoting and developing hockey in the Canterbury region. He was a founding trustee and board member of the New Zealand Academy of Sport – South Island until it merged into High Performance Sport New Zealand, where he continued to serve as a board member. After the Christchurch earthquakes, he undertook a number of volunteer positions to support the hockey community. Mr Cox has written two books on New Zealand’s involvement in the Middle East during World War II.
