Mr Ian Foster, of Auckland, QSM for services to the community
Ian Foster is the founder and CEO of the South Auckland Christian Foodbank, a charitable trust that assists more than 700 people per week by providing food parcels for individuals and families in need, as well as facilitating budget advice. It employs seven people and has more than 40 volunteers, and Mr Foster maintains a hands-on involvement. He has also been the Chairman of Te Whare Marama o Mangere, a women’s refuge for families affected by domestic violence, and has been involved with Boys Brigade and ICONZ, a values-based programme for boys and young men.
