Mr John Lamont, QSM, for services to aviation
John Lamont was a pilot for the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) before his 30-year career as a commercial pilot. He has flown in every Warbirds over Wanaka airshow since the first show, in 1988, and has given countless hours to organising this event. He is Chief Pilot of the Wanaka-based Fighter Collection. He has flown at airshows around the world and led the RNZAF’s Red Checkers 50th anniversary flight. He is a voluntary instructor for the New Zealand Warbirds Association, a New Zealand Airshows Association board member, and a Wanaka Search and Rescue Incident Manager.
