Mr Sefa Enari, of Auckland, MNZM, for services to Pacific dance
Sefa Enari is the artistic director of Pacific Dance New Zealand, which he founded in 2010 for the development of New Zealand’s Pacific dance industry.
He was a founding member of Pacific Theatre in 1987. He trained as a professional dancer and has performed internationally.
As a choreographer, he created dance works for the World War One centenary commemoration at Auckland Museum and the opening performance for the 2014 National Rugby Awards Ceremony.
Mr Enari was convenor of the Pacific Music and Dance programme at the University of Auckland’s Centre of Pacific Studies and the curriculum leader for Polynesian dance studies at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa and PIPA.
