Mrs Emily Gaddum, of Hastings, MNZM, for services to hockey
Emily Gaddum played for the Black Sticks from 2004 to 2016 and was New Zealand’s most capped female hockey player from 2014 to 2019. She competed at three Commonwealth Games, winning a silver and two bronze medals, and at three Olympic Games. She won bronze at the Hockey Champions Trophy and gold at two Champions Challenge tournaments. She competed at two Women’s Hockey World Cups. She plays and coaches at club level in Hawke’s Bay and helped to establish a hockey club in Havelock North. Mrs Gaddum has managed school holiday development programmes and youth camps for the Hawke’s Bay Hockey Association, coached school teams and run coaching-for-coaches sessions.
