Itamua Muaiao'omalo Mataiva Isaia-Robertson, of New Plymouth, ONZM, for services to women, youth and the Pacific community
Itamua Muaiao’omalo Mataiva Isaia-Robertson was the first woman to be elected General Secretary of the Samoan Synod (Sinoti Samoa) of the Methodist Church of New Zealand.
She set up the Social Issues Committee and has led the delivery of family violence and suicide prevention training workshops.
She is World General Secretary of the World Federation of Methodist and Uniting Church Women. She was National President of the New Zealand Methodist Women’s Fellowship.
She has worked towards establishing a National Samoan Women’s Centre. She chairs the Vaimoana Pasifika Charitable Trust in Taranaki.
She helped organise the Samoan Methodist Youth National Education Expo, has coordinated Pasifika youth programmes, and is a member of trusts disbursing education scholarships.
Mataiva has installed water supply systems and provided practical techniques for disaster mitigation in Samoa.
