Mrs Christine Lake, CNZM, of Christchurch, for services to Plunket
Christine Lake was inaugural Chairperson of the Royal New Zealand Plunket Trust from 2017 to 2020, leading the organisation through significant change, with a particular focus on pro-equity and a re-branding to Whānau Āwhina Plunket.
Previously, she was a member of Plunket’s National Board, sat on the Risk, Audit and Assurance Committee, and served as Deputy President and Acting President.
She navigated the organisation through the transition from the federated structure to a single Charitable Trust.
She initially joined the Royal New Zealand Plunket Society in 2000 and was Treasurer of Fendalton sub-branch, President of the North West Christchurch branch, and President of the Canterbury Area Society, leading the new-build project to create the Canterbury Plunket Centre.
Mrs Lake advocated for the introduction of Plunket’s leading-edge electronic health record.
