Dame Cindy and Ms Cheryll Martin, of Auckland, QSO for services to the community
Cheryll Martin is General Manager of Volunteering Auckland, steering the organisation through rapid digital development and implementing an efficient online system that is being picked up by other volunteer centres nationally. She was a founding Trustee and Board member of Volunteering New Zealand. She is an assessor for the NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Volunteer Management, has trained hundreds of volunteer coordinators and managers, and engages with organisations and people across Auckland. She volunteers with the Waikaraka Family Speedway, Birkdale Beachaven Community Project, Takapuna North Community Trust, and Manawatu Volunteer Resource Centre. Ms Martin represented New Zealand at the International Association for Volunteer Effort’s 2014 World Conference, has contributed to leadership forums, retreats and conferences in Australia, and produced an international speaker video series highlighting global aspects of volunteering.
