Mrs Karoline Park-Tamati, MNZM, of Auckland, for services to music
Karoline Park-Tamati, artistically known as Ladi6, is a leading Pacific artist and pioneer of music in New Zealand, with a career spanning 20 years.
She remains one of the most in-demand performers across New Zealand’s festival stages, recognised for her unique smoky vocals, unconventional music production, independence and progressive strategy within the industry.
As a teenager, she co-founded Sheelaroc, New Zealand’s first all-female hip-hop group. Mrs Park-Tamati has toured the United States, Europe and Australia; released three albums, ‘Time is Not much’, ‘The Liberation Of’, and ‘Automatic’; and won several New Zealand Music Awards and the Taite Music Prize.
