Dame Susan Glazebrook and Professor Alec Ekeroma, of Apia, ONZM for services to health and the Pacific community
Professor Alec Ekeroma played a leading role in initiating the Pacific Society for Reproductive Health, a not-for-profit organisation, and is its current CEO. It is now the foremost organisation for the professional development of doctors, nurses and midwives in the Pacific region. He has produced 51 academic publications. He founded the Pacific Journal of Reproductive Health and is Chief Editor. He was on the Board of Well Pacific Mother and Infant Services, Ta Pacifica Primary Health Organisation, and Southseas Healthcare Trust. He is a member of the Royal Australia New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and was Chairman of the New Zealand branch. He served on the National Perinatal and Maternal Mortality Review Committee. Professor Ekeroma has supported hundreds of medical students and trainees in obstetrics and gynaecology.
