Dame Susan Glazebrook and Ms Libby Hakaraia, of Otaki, MNZM for services to the film and media industries
Libby Hakaraia launched the Māoriland Film Festival, the largest indigenous film festival in the southern hemisphere. She is Executive Director of the Māoriland Hub, a multi-purpose cinema and arts space in Ōtaki. She is producer of NATIVE Slam, a 72-hour filmmaking challenge involving New Zealand and international indigenous filmmakers. She has been a jury member at ImagineNATIVE film festival in Toronto. She has screened her own short films at international festivals and was a producer of the successful New Zealand film ‘Cousins’. She has been an executive member of Screen Production and Development Association and Ngā Aho Whakaari. Ms Hakaraia has published three books on Matariki.
