The Honourable Mititaiagimene Vivian, CNZM, of Hakupu, Niue, for services to Niue
The Honourable Mititaiagimene Vivian was the Premier of Niue from 1992 to 1993 and from 2002 to 2008. He oversaw the response to Cyclone Heta and the construction of the Niue Foou Hospital, and has advocated for several youth employment programmes. He redeveloped the old Lialagi school in Lakepa village and was key to the establishment of the Fonuakula Industrial Park. He has held a number of ministerial roles and has been Secretary General of the South Pacific Conference, a member of the Constitutional Review Committee and a founder of the Niue Constitution 1974, and Chairperson of the Niue National Commission for UNESCO. He was the Member for Hakupu on the Niue Legislative Assembly. Mr Vivian has been a schoolteacher and is currently Ulumotua, a Senior Elder and lay preacher.
