Mrs Anna Harrison, MNZM, of Waimauku, for services to netball and volleyball
Anna Harrison has represented New Zealand in netball, beach volleyball and indoor volleyball. She played 88 tests with the Silver Ferns, including three Commonwealth Games, winning gold twice and silver once, and two World Netball Championships, winning gold and silver. She began her career with the Otago Rebels before relocating to Auckland to reside and play. She officially played her last match in the ANZ Netball Championship grand final in 2022. She is known for the ‘Harrison hoist’, where both circle defenders worked together to block a shot. Mrs Harrison played on the FIVB international beach volleyball circuit and played the New Zealand beach volleyball tour across many years.
