Ms Ann Dunphy, of Auckland, MNZM, for services to youth and education
Ann Dunphy trialled mentoring and guidance schemes at Tangaroa College and Penrose High School before helping to establish the Auckland Youth Mentoring Association, which became the Youth Mentoring Network. She now chairs the Youth Mentoring Network charitable trust, which delivers advice and services to providers running mentoring programmes for young New Zealanders. She was pivotal in developing and publishing the ‘Guide to Effective and Safe Practice in Youth Mentoring’. She was a Trustee of the Great Potentials Foundation, where she was project leader of the MATES Junior Mentoring and Tutoring Education Scheme. Ms Dunphy is a lecturer for the University of Auckland’s School of Teaching, Learning and Development.
