Mrs Mama Keni Moeroa, of Dunedin, MNZM for services to the Cook Islands community
Mama Keni Moeroa is Treasurer of Te Vaka Cook Islands of Dunedin and helps organise social and cultural events. She organised workshops exploring the Cook Island way of understanding wellbeing. She founded Tahuna Pasifiki, has taught children Cook Islands dance, and has contributed to the Kia Orana Performing Arts group. She helped establish the Pacific Trust Otago and is a board member. She chaired the University of Otago’s Pacific Advisory Group. She facilitates the Pacific Immersion Programme for medical students and has been a Senior Research Fellow at Te Va’a o Tautai-Centre for Pacific Health. Mrs Keni has been a member of the Mangaian Va’ine Tini, creating Cook Islands quilts.
