Dame Susan Glazebrook and Mr Shane McManaway, of Carterton, MNZM for services to agriculture and the community
Shane McManaway formed and is Chair of Platinum Primary Producers Group, a collective of 120 primary producers across Australasia and Asia, which supports its communities through fundraisers. He founded the Zanda McDonald Award to recognise and support young people in primary industry sectors. As Chair of the Wairarapa Development Group, he led the successful reinvention of ‘Wings over Wairarapa’. He has been a guest speaker at schools on mental health, as well as at agricultural conferences in New Zealand and overseas. Mr McManaway and his wife are developing ‘Five Rivers’, a medical facility for South Wairarapa residents, which will include GP services, specialists, sports rehabilitation facilities and a gym.
