Dr Anneliese Parkin, of Wellington, ONZM, for services to the Public Service
Dr Anneliese Parkin was Deputy Chief Executive, Policy with the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. She led the Policy Advisory Group, serving four Prime Ministers, and advising on and coordinating the Government’s policy agenda. She was involved in numerous Government priorities, including poverty reduction, COVID-19 and the Christchurch Call. She oversaw the whole-of-government Policy Project and supported the Head of Policy Profession in lifting system performance. She was a member of the Policy Profession and Policy Development Boards. She began her public sector career at Te Puni Kōkiri, moving to the Department of Labour and then the Office of Treaty Settlements. Dr Parkin was Chief Policy Advisor at the Ministry of Social Development, leading a team with expertise in such areas as household incomes, child development and housing.
