Mr Glenn Teal, of Auckland, MNZM for services to Fire and Emergency New Zealand and the community
Glenn Teal is Chief Fire Officer of the Auckland Operational Support Unit (OSU), which comprises 60 volunteers and provides 24/7 support to Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) personnel and other emergency services. He helped formulate FENZ’s first comprehensive basic training and progression system for Operational Support personnel. He established an Observer Programme to drive recruitment. He led projects to upgrade the unit’s stand-alone radio network, refurbish premises, and replace brigade vehicles. He mobilised OSU resources to assist following the 2010 Christchurch earthquake and during the 2019 Marlborough wildfires. Mr Teal has applied his property and investment expertise to the Auckland Baptist Tabernacle Trust Board and Laidlaw College Foundation.
